July 15, 2021

EPA appointed Michelle Bell to CASAC, which will provide advice on the scientific and technical basis of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). Dr. Bell and six others were selected among 100 candidates nominated for membership in the committee. Administrator Michael Regan notes, “The new Chartered CASAC—along with the support of pollutant-specific panels—will provide credible, independent expertise to EPA’s reviews of air quality standards that is grounded in scientific evidence.” Dr. Bell looks forward to linking scientific evidence to policy.
