Dr. Yimeng Song is currently a Postdoctoral Associate in Prof. Bell L. Michelle’s team at the Yale School of the Environment, where he works on data-driven analytics and computational methods to investigate environmental inequalities and their health impacts in the context of climate change and urbanization. He earned his PhD in Geography from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, focusing on geospatial analysis of human-environment interactions. Prior to joining Yale, he was a Research Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Song’s research centers on the intersection of geospatial science, particularly geospatial big data fusion and GeoAI, and environmental health. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed papers, including more than 10 ESI Highly Cited Papers, with 12,000+ citations on Google Scholar. He was recognized among the Top 2% of Scientists in the World by Stanford University and Elsevier.

Dr. Song serves as the principal investigator or co-investigator on several funded projects. He is an editorial board member or guest editor for journals such as Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, Frontiers in Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing, Forests, Environments, Land, IJERPH, and Urban Informatics. He also reviews for more than 50 prominent journals.
